Management Certificate Programs

Vaughn College offers management certificates and other programs that may enable our students to qualify for positions in some of today’s hottest fields.


Airline Management Certificate Program

The Airline Management Certificate will introduce the student to business and management concepts related to the airline industry both nationally and internationally. The student will learn the economic and financial underpinnings of this complex and dynamic industry. International and national regulations will also be explored. The management of airline organizations’ operations across a variety of cultures, currencies and geographic destinations will be covered.
The Airline Management Certificate program, consisting of 12 credits, can be transferred to any other accredited undergraduate degree program including the BS in Airline Management at Vaughn College.

Each of the four three-credit courses can be taken in any combination of live, online or hybrid formats. To accommodate students’ schedules,
the courses can be taken together in one semester, or they can be completed over several semesters.

With this professional certificate, those interested in advancing their careers in the airline industry will gain knowledge in order to obtain entry- or mid-level management positions. These positions include: customer service, gate agent, scheduling, operations, personnel management, leasing, finance and other related areas.

Because of Vaughn College’s proximity to one of the world’s largest aviation centers in the world, students are exposed to numerous networking and experiential opportunities. Vaughn’s professors are experts in the airline management field who bring a wealth of airline industry knowledge and connections to the program.


Airport Management Certificate Program

The Airport Management Certificate will introduce the student to business and management concepts related to managing small to large airports. The student will learn about business and retail, aviation operations, community relations, government impact and financial complexities related to this vibrant field. The international and national regulatory environment and their interactions with commercial applications for the successful management of airports will be examined. The management of airport operations in varying weather conditions, geographic settings, and infrastructure demands will be discussed.

The Airport Management Certificate program, consisting of 12 credits, can be transferred to any other accredited undergraduate degree program including the AAS and BS in Airport Management at Vaughn College.

Safety Management Systems Certificate Program

Safety Management Systems (SMS) is a top down and bottom up business approach to managing safety risk. To implement SMS successfully in an organization, all workers need to know and apply SMS principles and concepts. Vaughn College offers the only academically accredited SMS program in the tristate area serving the aviation community. This 12-credit program can be completed in a semester of full-time study or on a part-time basis.

Safety Management Systems Certificate Program

The entire credit-bearing Safety Management Systems Certificate Program or specific aspects of the program can be offered via individualized delivery for a pre-negotiated price to any organization required to perform or interested in Safety Management Systems training.
