CERTIFICATE IN

Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS) Design, Application and Operation Certificate

14 Credits
  • Learn to solve technical problems by applying principles of engineering, mathematics and science
  • Demonstrate an ability to design, test and conduct hands-on projects that are current with today’s UAS industries
  • Apply creativity in the design of UAS systems, components and processes

ENGINEERING PROGRAMS DESIGNED FOR THE FUTURE

Students pursuing this certificate program will learn about design, construction, application, operation and system integration for Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS). In this certificate program, students will take courses such as introduction to UAS, the rapid prototyping of drones and applications for land surveying. Students will also gain hands-on experience in designing, constructing and operating a UABV for a specific application with consideration of payload types, communication and control systems. Also, through both the drone law and remote pilot courses, students will learn about the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s new part 107 regulation, which will help prepare them for the required aeronautical knowledge test. At the end of this program, students will have a strong foundation in UAS design, construction, application and operation.

This certificate program will include hands-on skills to help students achieve success in their career paths as versatile engineers and technicians. Graduates of this certificate program will be able to obtain positions that require UAS design, manufacturing, application and operations knowledge and skills that are current with today’s industry trends.
