The uncharted territory of novel, tele-education initiatives didn’t stop more than 260 prospective students and their families from logging onto Vaughn College’s first-ever virtual open house events at the end of April. Utilizing Zoom conferencing, students were able to individually sign onto their program of interest and learn more about the futureproof education provided by Vaughn.

The virtual sessions began with introductory remarks from Vaughn College President Dr. Sharon B. DeVivo and Associate Vice President of Enrollment Celso Alvarez. Students and families were then instructed to follow their program of interest by joining the individualized and in-depth presentations on the degree offerings, in addition to virtually meeting with faculty from the diverse academic programs.

After learning more about Vaughn’s academics and offerings, prospective students and their families were then instructed to log onto the second part of the virtual open house, which would feature a presentation on admissions, financial aid and student life. Current Vaughn students were also available to discuss campus life from the student perspective.

Throughout this part of the event, attendees were invited to ask questions to help them complete or better understand the application process, on-campus experiences and learn more about Vaughn’s Futureproof Guarantee

“Vaughn is so confident in the value of the education we provide that if an eligible student is not employed full-time in their field of study, or continuing their education one year after graduating, the College will reimburse up to one year of federal, direct undergraduate student loan payments,” said Alvarez.
