The Vaughn College Warriors improved to 7-11 overall and 3-0 in Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference play on Sunday (Jan. 22) with a 69-61 overtime win over Albany College of Pharmacy in Albany.

Down 58-55 with 3:44 left in overtime, Jared Ndiba scored the game’s next eight points on four consecutive jump shots. The last of those put Vaughn up 63-58 with 1:51 remaining.

Vaughn made six of eight free throws in the final minutes to seal the game.

Jihad Ceaser led Vaughn with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Ndiba had 18 points while Ryan Burchette had 14 points and Jason Ramos had eight assists.

Earlier, the Warriors defeated Sarah Lawrence College, 101-25, on Friday (Jan. 20). Burchette had 30 points and 11 steals on 14-of-21 shooting. Ceaser had 22 points and 10 rebounds while Ndiba had 14 points and Brandon Reid had 11 assists. All 10 Vaughn players scored in what is an unofficial school record.
