More than 75 students attended a fall orientation at Vaughn College on Monday, August 20 and Tuesday, August 21. The scheduled activities took place across campus, where students were welcomed by faculty and staff, and engaged in interactive sessions throughout both days.

The program covered everything a new student might need to know from the basics of college life – clubs, activities, student affairs, securing lockers and obtaining ID cards – to health insurance, financial aid and course offerings. Essential technology, designed to make students lives easier, was reviewed and included how to access the email system and student portal.

These informational sessions alternated with entertaining activities such as performances by a master illusionist and comedian, and a trip to New York City’s famous BowlMor Alley in Times Square.  The highlight of orientation was when the new students received welcome pins from the department heads solidifying their place at Vaughn.

Vaughn believes the new student orientation is the best way for incoming students to transition to college life. New students stayed in the dorms, ate at the College, connected with fellow classmates, housemates and other members of the College community, and got a real taste of life at Vaughn.

One last fall orientation session will take place for new students on Tuesday, August 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The final orientation for Transfer students will take place on Tuesday, August 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
