Tuesday, September 1 marked the first day of the fall semester at Vaughn College.  After a hot and humid summer, the students returned to participate in Vaughn’s weeks of welcome activities hosted by the office of student affairs. Students were given the opportunity to interact with members of the student affairs staff, meet with clubs and organizations on campus, and learned about athletic activites. On Thursday, September 3 the first men’s soccer club interest meeting was held in the main building along with the veteran’s organization meeting and the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) meeting. Each introductory meeting informs students of all qualifications to be an official member along with planning and preparation of yearly organizational events. The new student orientation for ATI students was also held this week, providing information to all first time ATI students. The week of activities ended with an ice cream social during common hour in the main lobby for all students.

Vaughn College will close for Labor Day on Monday, September 7; students are welcome to join the student affairs staff for the Labor Day BBQ from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. outside the residence hall on Monday.
