On Wednesday, February 8 students and faculty had the opportunity to tour the Marotta facility, a fully integrated solutions provider which designs, develops, qualifies and manufactures innovative systems and sub-systems for the aerospace and defense sectors. While touring the advanced facility, students spoke to employees from different departments such as part design, part testing and final inspection. It provided an incredible opportunity for students to explore different areas of the engineering and manufacturing industry, network with professionals and learn more about company culture and career aspirations.

The founder of Marotta, Patrick Marotta, was a 1940’s graduate. His son Thomas, retired president and CEO of Marotta, served on Vaughn’s board of trustees for more than two decades. Patrick’s grandson, current president and CEO, serves on Vaughn’s President’s Advisory Council.

This was the second time in recent weeks that the career services office and the Society of Women Engineers brought Vaughn students to tour and network with professionals.

“It was truly an amazing experience to visit Marotta’s state-of-the-art facility,” said Malik Ali Ahmed Khuram ’25. “This trip was an incredible opportunity for me and my fellow students at Vaughn College to learn about the many facets of engineering and manufacturing industry.”
