Vaughn College student Brian Linhares will present a paper titled “Robotic Applications to Enhance Transportation Security” at the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Middle Atlantic Conference at Temple University in Philadelphia next week.

Linhares’ paper details the production of an autonomous robot that provides public security without having a hostile presence. Special sensors allow it to periodically take air samples to identify the presence of explosive chemicals.

The AMEE conference, scheduled for Oct. 28-29 and titled “Engineering Education for the Next Decade,” brings together engineering scholars and educators to present research and innovations.
