Matthew Small 22 was one of eight students awarded a $2,500 scholarship award from the Regional Air Cargo Carriers Association (RACCA). Small is currently working on his flight instructor certificate before going for his CFII and already achieved his private pilot, instrument rating and commercial pilot certificates. He currently works as a flight tutor at the Academic Success Center. Small will use the scholarship to pursue his CFI training certificate.

“Always knock on the door of opportunity, whether you think you’re qualified or not,” Small said. “Basically, never tell yourself no.”
