Vaughn College’s Robotics team advanced to the finals at the New Hampshire VEX U Robotics Regional Tournament and earned the Robot Skills and Excellence awards which qualifies them for the 2019 VEX U world championship. The team of 13 members competed against five other groups including: Manchester Community College, Johnson & Wales University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, New York Institute of Technology, Vermont Technical College and Aquidneck Island Robotics (AIR).

“We had an improved structural design for this tournament and the team pulled together in such a positive way,” said Justin Becker. “We look forward to performing even better with the skills portion and learning from our competition.”

Each participating team had a total of six matches. Vaughn’s team won all of its six qualifying matches and advanced to the first-place seating of the playoff round. During the elimination of the playoff rounds, team VCAT defeated all of their opponents thus advancing to the finals where they faced AIR.

The 2019 VEX U world championship will be held at the Kentucky Exposition Center Louisville, Kentucky on Wednesday, April 24. Visit RobotEvents.com/VEXtv to view a live stream of the matches.
