On a crisp late-summer Thursday (Sept. 15), Vaughn College turned its attention back to the spring. More than 200 of the college’s best and brightest from the spring 2011 semester were honored at the College’s biannual academic awards ceremony.

“This is one of the special days in the life of a college administrator,” President John Fitzpatrick said. “You look around and you see the future of industry.”

Thursday’s hour-long ceremony recognized those students whose grade-point averages were between 3.50 and 3.67 (Faculty’s List); 3.68 and 3.84 (Dean’s List); and 3.85 and 4.0 (President’s List). Students received individual certificates to applause at every name.

The ceremony followed the signing of a partnership between the College and Redbird Flight Simulations that will enable Vaughn students to obtain pilot’s licenses through use of Redbird’s facility in San Marcos, Texas.
