On Saturday, February 22, Vaughn hosted the VEX IQ competition, launching the robotics series and further highlighting that the path towards science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) should start early.

The event provided elementary and middle school students with exciting robotics and research project challenges that enhance their STEM skills through hands-on activities. More than 40 teams and 18 schools, from near and far, experienced the adventure of competition and putting classroom concepts to the test.

Elementary and middle school students were able to design and build a robot to play against other teams. In addition, their participation allowed them to further develop lifelong teamwork, leadership and communication skills. A panel of judges awarded students for their efforts.

Vaughn will be hosting the next series of robotics competitions on Friday, February 28 and Saturday, February 29.
