Vaughn College hosted a virtual information session for current and prospective Shanghai Jian Qiao University students on Wednesday, August 12. The session aimed to provide important information regarding the status of the upcoming fall semester for our international students.

More than 25 participants joined the session and were given the opportunity to have any questions they may have answered and also express their concerns regarding adjusting to the new normal, the implications of travel and how the College will be operating.

“Though international travel is limited due to COVID-19, I am thrilled that our students from our partner school Shanghai Jian Qiao in China are still able to pursue their educational goals with us,” expressed Elaine T. White, assistant vice president for student affairs and dean of students. “I am proud to work at an institution that puts the needs of its students first – our residence hall has remained open even through NY Pause to be able to house students, including those from Jian Qiao, who otherwise would have had nowhere else to go.”

Awaiting students’ return to campus, the College has also implemented some new steps and options available at their disposal to help continue their education safely and effectively. The information can also be found at Vaughn.edu/coronavirus.
