On Wednesday, October 11, more than 240 students and 40 employer companies filled the hangar to attend Vaughn’s spring career fair hosted by career services. Employers offered students information about internship and career opportunities available to them now and in the near future. Among the companies in attendance were JetBlue, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Delta Tech Ops, Con Edison, PSA Airlines, Republic Airways, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and Marotta Controls.

“We’re looking for anyone with aviation experience so we can take them into different roles,” said Cade Kennemer, currently an Atlas Air ambassador. “We have tons of internships opportunities, we have the Pathways to Success program and we’ve been a long-time partner with Vaughn College when we look for applicants.”

Chaundra Daniels, director of career services, noted “The success of the fair was not only due to the number of individuals present, but the spirit of community shown. The support of faculty, staff and students in assisting one another in speaking with employers was amazing,” says Daniels. “The employers shared on the spot feedback with our students to help their career path.”

The office of career services will host another career fair in the spring semester.
