On Thursday, January 18, Vaughn hosted its annual alumni and employer New Year’s reception. Students, staff, faculty, employers and alumni gathered to toast the New Year and celebrate the launch of the spring 2024 semester. The reception gave students the opportunity to network with alumni and employers to understand their career paths, learn about employment opportunities in various fields and hear about the impact Vaughn has on their success.

The evening began with welcome remarks by Vaughn President Dr. Sharon B. DeVivo, followed by Chaundra Daniels, director of career services, thanking employers for their support and Stephen DeSalvo, vice president of institutional advancement and engagement, highlighting alumni engagement and its importance to the institution.

Daniels presented the distinguished employer award to employees of Atlas Air and PSA Airlines. Sara Felder, vice president of associate general counsel and Leisa Spears Synder, director of workforce development, received the award on behalf of Atlas Air. While Theresa Adams, diversity, equity and inclusion program specialist, represented PSA Airlines. The distinguished employer award is presented to a partner company in the aviation industry that has demonstrated an overall commitment to the students at Vaughn College through internship programs, hiring alumni, financial contributions to a specific club or organization and donating to the student experience fund.

The next alumni and employer New Year’s reception will be hosted in January 2025.
