Members of the College’s Circle K service organization received a host of awards at the Circle K International district convention in Albany recently. The College’s chapter also received special recognition, winning the annual Governor’s Project Award.

Outgoing club president Don Raghunandan was nominated for Circle K’s District Governor’s Project Committee chairman. Sumeer Missir was named outstanding editor for 2010-2011 and was nominated for Circle K’s District Laws and Regulations chairman. Muhammad Siddiqui was named Brooklyn Queens Empire Division lieutenant governor. Narendra Ram was given honorable mention for outstanding treasurer.

Vaughn’s Circle K chapter is a subsidiary of Kiwanis International, a global service organization whose members sponsor more than 150,000 projects annually. Among the projects Vaughn’s chapter contributed to was a global initiative to eliminate neonatal tetanus.
