On Saturday, April 27, five groups of Vaughn students presented posters at the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Mid-Atlantic Section Conference at New York City College of Technology (CUNY) in Brooklyn, NY. The poster by Jonathan Sypeck and Wajahat Khan entitled “Revisiting the Calculations of the Aerodynamic Lift Generated over the Fuselage of the Lockheed Constellation,” received the certificate of Outstanding Poster Presentation of the conference. Dr. Amir Elzawawy and Dr. Yougashwar Budhoo served as the academic advisors.

The students were accompanied at the conference by Dr. Hossein Rahemi, engineering and technology department chair, and Khalid Mouaouya, associate professor in the department. Dr. Elzawawy was also in attendance as a conference participant.

The four additional papers presented at the Conference were: “Liquid Automated Cooling Immersion (L.A.C.I),” by Jordan Whylie, Shahidul Islam and Bridgette Valencia; “Automatic Fluid Dispenser,” by William Dale and Youri Martinez; “Automated Sorting Using PLC Technology,” by Michael Wroblewski and Yoeri Martinez and “Application of Shear Thickening Non-Newtonian Fluid to Minimize Head and Neck Injury,” by Jose Herrera. Dr. Shouling He served as academic advisor for the first three papers and Dr. Elzawawy and Dr. Budhoo for the final paper listed.
