Despite the early morning rain, the weather cleared and the sun shone bright on Vaughn College’s second spring open house.  Prospective students and their families came to learn more about Vaughn, take a campus tour and participate in an ultimate campus experience showing the practical side of what attending Vaughn would be like. More than 400 potential students attended both events.

Attendees were welcomed by President Dr. John C. Fitzpatrick and treated to breakfast, tours, raffles and various academic program information sessions. Admissions and financial aid representatives were on hand to answer questions and assist students and their families in the application process.

One student from Middle College in Los Angeles flew in yesterday so he could attend today’s open house. Mujtaba Mohammadi, who is interested in studying engineering and also moving to New York, learned about Vaughn College from his high school guidance counselor. “I’m excited to be here today and very interested in learning more about what degree programs Vaughn offers to prepare me for a future career upon graduation,” he said.

During the academic sessions, the instructors described a variety of programs offered at Vaughn in engineering, technology, management and aviation. The professors discussed the potential for a variety of careers and applications of the degrees post-graduation.

Victoria Pecci, who is an air traffic controller in Spain and also interested in airport management, attended the event. “I’m interested in relocating to New York so I came today to find out what educational opportunities Vaughn offers to combine with my current experience,” said Pecci. “It really was a great event .”
