President DeVivo was featured in Metropolitan Airport News issue of “Wing Women: Women in Aviation” segment in honor of Women’s History Month. Th­­e issue focused on the inspiring stories of women that continue to pave the way to bridge the gender gap in the industry.

The feature emphasized President DeVivo’s accomplishments during her tenure at the College, which included her recent appointment to chair the Department of Transportation’s Youth Access to American Jobs in Aviation Task Force (YIATF). YIATF’s objective is to expose high school students to pursue in-demand careers in aviation.

In addition, the piece referenced Vaughn’s commitment to inspiring young women in STEM fields so that they can consider opportunities in aviation, aerospace and technology early. Prior to the pandemic, the College would host numerous events on campus in partnership with the Girl Scouts and Women in Aviation.

Vaughn is continuously developing strategies to support students and become a resource for professional support, every step of a graduate’s path. The past year has emphasized the changing nature of higher education and has exposed the College to the opportunity of a myriad of virtual events including being able to host aviation and aerospace professionals more frequently via Zoom.
