On Thursday, September 3, Vaughn College virtually welcomed new and returning students to the fall 2020 semester.

Elaine T. White, assistant vice president for student affairs and dean of students, introduced eager students to the “new normal” of campus operations, tips on how to manage the hybrid modalities and the importance of the College’s core values.

Vaughn President Dr. Sharon B. DeVivo also welcomed students reminding them that this time of uncertainty brings forth a new type of resiliency which can aid them in becoming successful in their career trajectories.

Sarah Tsang, assistant director of student activities and engagement, reminded students of the upcoming social events to encourage engagement including virtual reality games, outdoor movie nights throughout the whole month of September, a volleyball tournament and many more to assist with their transition into a new academic environment.

To conclude the virtual ceremony, Elaine T. White introduced the Student Government Association President Ehab Zaki who was sworn into office for the 2020-2021 academic year.

“My first goal is to be the contact person between the students and the school management in all levels,” said Zaki. “I want to make sure that any student who comes to Vaughn feels like this is their home.”
