Michael Joseph, senior project engineer of the manufacturing, technology and engineering division for Corning Incorporated gave a presentation on Advanced Scoring Platform (ASD) capabilities to students on Thursday, November 16. Corning remains one of the world’s leading innovators in material sciences.

Joseph gave his background to students and went on to describe how Corning takes part in manufacturing catalytic converters and also gorilla glass used in iPhone and Samsung phones. He gave projections of introducing future models of cars windows with gorilla glass technology and the user can adjust the opacity of the tint manually.

The report that he discussed gave details of developed machines and the subsequent formulation of a scoring process. Joseph discussed internship and job opportunities when he opened the presentation for questions.

“The opportunities that the seminars provide can be very helpful for students who are looking for face time with executives within these top companies,” said Dr. Hossein Rahemi, chair of the engineering and technology department.
