The management department’s fall speaker series continued with Jenny Ann Urban, an aviation attorney who served at two international law firms, where she counseled a wide array of clients on complex aviation issues. Urban’s knowledge of aviation law empowered her to work with major U.S. and foreign passenger and cargo airlines involved in the commercial use of drones and other stakeholders on compliance.

Urban’s presentation covered the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the aviation job market and also introduced participants to the opportunities of non-traditional careers in aviation.

A frequent speaker at both domestic and international conferences, she provided insights on how to prepare for a successful career in aviation and highlighted resources such as LinkedIn and conference attendance as measures to learn about domestic and international opportunities in the field.

Urban also serves on the advisory board for the Aviation Community Foundation, a non-profit organization that works on fostering the interest of aviation to the next generation of aviation professionals.

The department will hold its next speaker series event on Friday, November 20 and will feature Doug Shoemaker, Special Agent-in-Charge for the Northeast Region at the U.S. Department of Transportation.
