Vaughn welcomed George Casey, chief executive officer of Vantage Airport Group on Friday, September 17. Vantage Airport Group is a global airport investment, development and management company that works with more than 30 airports worldwide. For more than two decades, the company has aided in making airports more efficient, profitable and sustainable.

With more than 30 years of senior leadership and management experience in the airport and aviation sector, Casey joined Vantage in 2001, following executive and leadership positions at Lockheed Air Terminal, Airport Group International and PwC and KPMG’s infrastructure practices.

Casey has been involved in capital planning and airport development, finance, operations, air service development, commercial management, mergers and acquisitions and privatizations in almost every region of the world, including the $5.1B redevelopment of LaGuardia Terminal B, the largest public-private transportation infrastructure project in country history.

Throughout his career, he has been involved in more than 170 airports, led $7 billion in airport capital financing and acquisitions, successfully delivered more than 20 significant airport transactions, and served on or chaired 16 airport boards of directors.

This session of the virtual speaker series focused on the benefits and opportunities of careers in airports on an international and national level and gave students insights into how to obtain a career in that field, the major power players in the industry and how the industry has adapted post pandemic.
