The management department at Vaughn College welcomed guest Bruce Jackson, president and managing director of Air Informatics, LLC on Tuesday, October 31. Jackson opened the first installment of the speaker series by addressing students and faculty on the future direction of aviation management, cyber security, e-enabled aircrafts and ‘big data’ applications.

Topics ranged from digital tracking to newer roles being introduced into airline management such as digital certificate experts. Attendees engaged in the discussion of predictive maintenance versus reactive maintenance and its efficacy in the near future. Vaughn College offers associate level to masters in airport management which Jackson referenced.

“Vaughn gives you a great education on how to use newer technology and tools,” said Bruce Jackson. “But a crucial step is effectively using the knowledge of these new technologies.”
