On Thursday, October 13, more than 200 students filled the hangar to attend the office of career services’ fall career fair. A total of 45 companies attended the event, offering students information about various internship and career opportunities available to them now and in the near future. Among the companies that attended were Boeing, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Endeavor Air, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, LaGuardia Gateway Partners and Republic Airways. This was the first in-person career fair at Vaughn in more than two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Several of the companies in attendance featured alumni returning to campus to recruit new hires, a trend that the College has seen at many of its career fairs.

“We’re looking for the best of the best and Vaughn has the best to offer in several career fields,” said Freddie Greene ’04, a former student who now works for the FAA. “We received a great quality education at Vaughn and believe the students here have a lot to offer in the FAA.”

“I am very pleased with the turn out from both our employer partners and students who attended the Vaughn College Fall 2022 Career Fair,” said Chaundra Daniels, director of career services. “With this being the first in person Career Fair since 2019, we connected with our employers and our students displayed their employability. Overall, our students sent a message, they are seeking employment and understand the goal of their education at Vaughn is to become futureproof, and that access to do is supported and provided by the college.”

The office of career services will host another career fair in the spring semester.
