A public service announcement, featuring Channel 4 news anchor Chuck Scarborough and filmed on the Vaughn College campus, has begun airing on the network and its cable affiliate.

Scarborough, an Air Force veteran and recreational pilot, was at Vaughn in October to film the announcement. He toured the College, checked out its flight simulators and visited the hangar area, where the announcement was filmed.

The public service announcement is part of the network’s “I am a New Yorker” promotional campaign. It features Scarborough, station personalities and others discussing their appreciation of New York City life. It began airing Nov. 11 as part of the station’s Veterans Day observances.

“I am a pilot; I am a New Yorker,” Scarborough says.

Scarborough hosts Channel 4’s nightly news at 6 and 11 p.m. He also hosts a 7 p.m. newscast on the channel’s 24-hour cable outlet New York Nonstop.

New York Nonstop can be found on channel 161 on Time Warner Cable; channel 460 on Verizon FiOS; channel 109 on Cablevision in New York and New Jersey; channel 118 on Cablevision in Connecticut; channel 48 on RCN cable; and channel 248 on Comcast.
