William McGee, award-winning investigative journalist and columnist hosted a book launch party at Vaughn College for his newest novel “Half the Child” on Saturday, July 21. McGee worked as a former adjunct professor at Vaughn and was thrilled to premiere his newest work to more than 70 eager attendees at the College followed by a book signing.

The fictional novel is set in Queens, and the narrator is an air traffic controller at LaGuardia Airport. This event was open to the Vaughn community including students, faculty and staff.

“Vaughn’s aviation heritage and air traffic control instruction made it the perfect place for the launch party,” said McGee. “I’m a native of Queens myself. I grew up just a few blocks away from the College on 86th Street in Jackson Heights and worked right across the parkway at LaGuardia.”
