The Metropolitan Section American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Transportation Group held its 22nd annual conference at Vaughn College on Wednesday, April 3. Vaughn President Dr. Sharon B. Redevelopment updates were given for John F. Kennedy Airport Terminal One and how the facility will offer a seamless, state-of-the-art security experience, as well improvements on environmental sustainability efforts by switching to renewable energy. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) elaborated on their collaborative project on creative solutions for taxiway intersection design.

“Being able to gain insight from industry professionals and network is why these conferences are important for students to attend,” remarked Lina Londono ’19 airport management graduate student.

Following the conference wrap-up attendees were able to give feedback to colleagues and chat with Vaughn students.
