The rigorous program has two primary objectives: provide a link between academia and industry; and teach students to understand and work with analytical, computational and experimental methods. Graduates will have the ability to evaluate these methods for use in practical situations.

Core courses include a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and electronics. Students then choose electives in advanced digital design, data acquisition, intoroduction to electronic power systems, design and computer programming. In the last two semesters of the program, students will work on design projects related to mechatronic components development.

The program instills a broad-based understanding of the fundamental technical subject areas associated with mechatronic engineering and automation so students are ready for immediate employment in industry or graduate study.

Vaughn College’s career services department employs a variety of tools to assist students and alumni in their development as professionals. The department meets and communicates with individuals through appointments, e-mail and phone conversations, providing information, editing and reviewing resumes and helping with the job and internship search process. It implements weekly workshops on resume writing, interviewing skills and job fair etiquette. It organizes job fairs in the fall and spring, each with 40-plus companies, and a graduate school fair in the winter.

The department also networks with companies on behalf of Vaughn students for job and internship opportunities. It manages a private job board website, Vaughn Career Connect, where students and alumni can post resumes and apply for positions. Employers registered on the site can post jobs as well as search and review student and alumni resumes for potential candidates for open positions. For more information on career opportunities visit Vaughn career connect here.
