The Vaughn College Warriors used a strong second-half performance to defeat Culinary Institute, 64-43, Sunday in Hyde Park, N.Y., ending a two-game losing streak.

The Warriors were led by sophomore Jihad Ceaser, who had 19 points on 5-for-6 shooting, including 3-for-3 from three-point range. Freshman Joe Douglas had 18 points on 6-for-8 shooting and chipped in two assists and two steals.

The Warriors jumped out to a 5-0 lead en route to a 39-27 halftime advantage punctuated by a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Ceaser. Vaughn opened a 20-point, second-half lead, sparked by 10 second-half steals.

The Warriors play at Lehman College on Tuesday (Nov. 23) night.
