Students were hosted by the Terminal B team at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) for an engaging terminal complex tour. LGA General Manager Tony Vero led an informative presentation on the challenges and achievements that come with running the award-winning airport and gave students insights on potential career paths at LaGuardia. The group then went on a tour led by Vaughn’s own Elvira Pereyaslov ‘26, an airlines management student, and Serron Fulton, operations unit manager for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Pereyaslov is currently an intern at LGA and the president of the College’s student chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).

While on the tour, students got to see the ins and outs of the operations at LGA. Vero covered topics like sustainability, finances, design, strategic planning, maintenance and more. Jose Ruano, senior manager for LaGuardia Gateway Partners, showed the group around the Integrated Terminal Operations Center and described in detail how it functions.

Pereyaslov also shared her experiences as an aviation management student and encouraged her peers to join AAAE.  To learn more about AAAE or the other clubs and activities on campus, you can find the club page here.
