This year’s annual Assessment Day was developed and hosted by Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) Self-Study Co-Chairs. Dr. Peter Canellis, management department associate professor, and Ms. Elaine T. White, assistant vice president of institutional compliance and student success and Title IX coordinator, and Dr. Paul LaVergne, vice president of academic affairs and MSCHE Liaison.

White and Canellis provided an overview of the Middle States accreditation process and reviewed the importance of the self-study process. White then shared initial results of a recently fielded student survey that rated Vaughn services across many departments and was very positive overall.

Attendees (both in-person and on Zoom) were then divided into small discussion groups by Middle States standards to provide feedback and ideas to the process and four of the groups reported out to everyone. The discussions at each table were led by one of the standard co-chairs and included faculty and staff who were not familiar with that standard to get varying and inclusive viewpoints from the community.

Last event of the day was fun and information with a trivia game with questions based on information culled from the department assessment.
