
Vaughn Engineering Faculty Attends 2026 American Society for Engineering Education Annual Conference and Exposition
Faculty from Vaughn’s engineering department traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina to participate in the 2026 American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) annual conference and exposition. Throughout the conference, they presented research papers and networked with engineering educators, researchers and other professionals from across the United States to exchange innovative teaching ideas and share advances in program assessment and accreditation.
Dr. Ghania Benbelkacem presented the paper “Automated Grading for CAD in Engineering Education” at the ASEE engineering design graphics division conference. Engineering department chair, Dr. Hossein Rahemi, along with Drs. Shouling He and Amir Elzawawy presented their paper, “Student Engagement–Faculty Mentorship in Engineering Clubs: A Longitudinal Study,” during the community engagement division session at the ASEE conference. This paper emphasized Vaughn College’s commitment to student engagement through technical clubs such as the robotics, uncrewed aerial vehicle and rover teams.
Additionally, Vaughn’s faculty attended workshops and technical sessions to enhance their knowledge of continuous program improvement and educational excellence. The conference ran from Sunday, June 21 to Wednesday, June 24.
