Students and administrators from the University of West Indies (UWI) spent a week at Vaughn College as part of the Master of Science in Aviation: International Internship Seminar. As part of the seminar, they went on tours of aviation facilities around the Tri-State Area.  

The group explored the Skyports facility in Manhattan and learned how various operations work. The staff described how they plan to accommodate changing technologies, demonstrate the experimental drone delivery system in real time and explain the recent electric vertical takeoff and landing test flights. 

Additionally, the UWI students and administrators toured LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and were led by Vaughn alumnus Otha Ward ’19, who currently serves as the assistant manager to airside operations at LGA. They were able to hear from the different departments, learn about the airport’s redevelopment and view the operation centers.  

The class was also able to tour Westchester County Airport in White Plains, New York. Students were given a behind-the-scenes look into airport operations.
