Belal Lulu, director of preventative education, traveled to Albany to represent the College at the Enough is Enough (EiE) listening session and to speak on the EiE legislation and financial support around victim services in show of support of the Crime Victims Treatment Center, a campus partner of Vaughn College. Lulu spoke on how EiE initiatives strengthens Vaughn’s federally funded campus-based prevention work, and how the College has been able to deliver meaningful, trauma-informed support for our students and campus community.

“In my role as project manager, I’ve seen firsthand how EiE is not just policy, it’s a framework that connects values to actions,” said Lulu. “It allows campuses like ours, a federally funded Office on Violence Against Women site and a Hispanic-Serving Institution in one of the most diverse zip codes in the nation, to cultivate environments rooted in safety, accountability and belonging.”

The EiE is operated by the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence. New York established EiE to address sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking on college campuses. EiE requires all colleges in New York to adopt a set of comprehensive procedures and guidelines to address these issues. Along with a funding program to assist New York higher education institutions support prevention needs.
