Vaughn College is continually updating and adding to our substantial collection of materials, which includes books, periodicals, online databases, computerized aircraft manuals, audio books, graphic novels and movies. All materials are only accessible to faculty, staff and students through the following manner:

  • Regular circulation: Materials can only be signed out for a two-week period. If a book is still needed (and hasn’t been requested by another) it can be renewed for an additional two weeks. Materials can also be requested through interlibrary loan, where we borrow materials from other libraries locally and nationally.
  • Reserve: Located in the staff work area, this collection is comprised of textbooks used for classes. The library houses at least two copies of every Vaughn textbook. The reserve materials circulate for 3 hours, with a $10.00 per day penalty. This strict policy is enforced to allow all students equal access to the textbooks.

The library’s collection of more than 6,500 DVDs consists of current movies as well as class information and documentaries. We also offer online access to 90 research databases that contain full-text periodicals, journals and newspapers. In addition to these databases, subscriptions to the Encyclopedia Britannica, Credo Reference and Jane’s Research are available as well as Serials Solution, a subject and title search mechanism.
