Cybersecurity Academic Programs

Cybersecurity education at Vaughn College is delivered primarily through the bachelor of science in computer engineering—cybersecurity track, where cybersecurity concepts are integrated throughout the curriculum. The program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in computing and engineering principles while emphasizing secure system design, analysis and operation.

Students progress through a structured sequence of coursework that combines theoretical instruction with hands-on laboratory experiences. Cybersecurity topics are introduced early and reinforced through advanced courses, projects and applied learning activities. This integrated approach ensures students develop both conceptual understanding and practical skills relevant to modern cybersecurity practice.

Through the cybersecurity track, students gain knowledge and hands-on experience in areas such as:

  • Cyber defense principles and threat awareness
  • Network architecture and security systems
  • Secure computing, embedded systems and hardware-software integration
  • Ethical hacking methodologies and digital forensics fundamentals

The program prepares graduates for entry-level cybersecurity and engineering roles and supports continued professional development through industry-aligned learning platforms, applied projects and experiential learning opportunities.
