Opportunity, Entry and Other Programs

Vaughn College partners with New York State to open doors for students who might not otherwise have a path to higher education. Our opportunity programs offer academic support, mentorship and financial resources to help students at every stage—from middle school through college graduation. Explore the program that fits your journey below.

Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP)

A partnership between Vaughn College and the New York State Education Department, HEOP helps academically and economically disadvantaged New York residents attend college. Students receive supplemental financial assistance, counseling and tutoring designed to support them through every step of their degree.

Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP)

Designed for students in grades 7-12, STEP introduces historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students to STEM and aviation-related fields. Drawing on Vaughn's aeronautical heritage and award-winning robotics program, STEP offers tutoring, standardized test prep and college readiness support through academic programming.

Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP)

Funded by the New York State Education Department, CSTEP supports eligible students pursuing STEM degrees with tutoring, academic workshops, research opportunities and career mentorship. Students build hands-on experience through internships and conferences while connecting with a community of peers and faculty who understand their path.
