What are my career options with a flight degree?
With your AAS degree in aircraft operations, you may begin your career as a commercial pilot flying air taxis, banner flying or traffic watch single-engine airplanes. However, to fly corporate jets, commuter planes or jets for the major airlines, you need to accumulate more flight hours and experience.
As a student, you can also opt to participate in the FAA's Collegiate Training Initiative (CTI) program. Upon successful completion, candidates who wish to become air traffic control specialists will be recommended to the FAA for further training.
