Kerry Dickson, Class of '05

Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Operations
First Officer, Delta Connection
JFK International

"If I can do it, anyone can." At age 5, Kerry Dickson took his first plane ride from his small Caribbean island to the mainland of Grenada. He's been hooked on aviation since. Kerry earned a degree in Aeronautical Technology at Vaughn College and is living his dream.

He is now working as a first officer at Freedom Airline at JFK International. The best part: when passengers tell him they had a great flight, Kerry reflects upon his professors at Vaughn-who brought their real-world experience to the classroom, preparing him for these moments.

"Just reading from a book, you can't visualize it like you can when you hear it from someone who has actually been there, behind the controls," he says

Though his schedule is hectic, Kerry takes time to share with Vaughn students. His message: "If I can do it, anyone can. Just stay focused."
