André Thornton, Class of '06

Bachelor of Science in Airport Management
Air Traffic Controller
Bradley International Airport

"My Vaughn instructors helped me achieve my goals." André Thornton knew the minute he stepped on campus that he had made the right decision when he chose to attend Vaughn. Throughout his college career, that feeling was reinforced by the many instructors who helped him achieve his educational and career goals.

"Every step of the way, my instructors saw the potential in me and assisted me as needed," he says. The connections André made, and the relationships he forged at Vaughn led to a job during his college days at a ramp service at JFK International Airport and to his present job as an air traffic controller at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.

He has also taught a freshman seminar course at Vaughn and is on track to teach in the air traffic control program.
