Vaughn Students Earn Wings Club Scholarships
December 6, 2011
A pair of Vaughn College seniors were among five students nationwide to receive scholarships from the nonprofit aviation society The Wings Club.
Noemi Nunez, a management student, was awarded the prestigious William R. DeCota Scholarship while Brian Linhares, a senior studying mechatronics engineering, received one of the society's four Distinguished Scholarship Achievement Awards.
Both Nunez and Linhares were nominated by Vaughn. Minimum qualifications were a 3.0 grade point average and demonstrated financial need. The students were required to provide a short biography and essay. The Wings Club is located in Manhattan, at the offices of the former Pan Am airlines.
