Vaughn Professor Attends Key Avionics Conference
March 7, 2012
Vaughn College Assistant Professor Mudassar Minhas is attending a conference this week led by the Aircraft Electronics Association, a nonprofit organization that supports the continuing education of avionics professionals.
The organization's Certified Repair Station Training Course, held in Kansas City, Mo., focuses on U.S. regulations for avionics repair stations; repair station audit preparation; and writing repair station manuals. Minhas, a member of the engineering and technology faculty, holds undergraduate degrees from Western Michigan University and Vaughn College and a master's of business administration from Baruch College (CUNY).
The conference concludes Friday (March 9).
Said Minhas: "Training in these disciplines will directly enhance our students' learning in several courses, including AVT454 (Avionics Installation and Maintenance), AVT455 (Avionics Reliability and Maintainability) and AVT456 (Avionics Integrated Logistics Support). The AEA is one of only a few institutions that work with the FAA to tailor course content to industry needs."
