Fall 2011 New Student Orientation Schedule Announced
April 27, 2011
Vaughn College's New Student Orientation sessions for students beginning classes in Fall 2011 will be held over two-day periods in July and August. The sessions are designed to assist incoming students in achieving their educational goals and in the transition to college life.
Sessions are scheduled for Thursday, July 14 and Friday, July 15; Tuesday, August 9 and Wednesday, August 10; and Wednesday, August 24 and Thursday, August 25. Students are required to check in from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the main lobby.
The sessions provide students with the opportunity to meet future classmates; learn about the campus and its resources; meet faculty in their potential degree majors; and get involved in campus activities and leadership.
In addition, students will participate in small-group discussions with faculty or staff members. To participate fully, students need to read chapters 1 and 2 of the book "The Kite Runner." A link to chapters 1 and 2 can be found here. Students can bring a copy of the chapters to the sessions; copies also will be available that day.
Click here to register. Students who have not filed immunization records with the admissions office can bring them to orientation. Student should contact the office of student services at 718.429.6600 ext. 170 or e-mail Kamla Holland at kamla.holland@vaughn.edu with questions or if unable to attend a session.
