First Annual Women's Health and Wellness Fair Comes to Vaughn
March 6, 2013
Vaughn College held its first annual Women's Health and Wellness Fair today. Vaughn students were able to speak to health professionals about issues including breast health, acupuncture, eating disorders and more. The event was hosted by the Office of Counseling and Wellness and was one of the College's opening festivities for Women's History Month.
"This event is a great opportunity for all of Vaughn's students to receive information about their health and personal well-being," said Jerima DeWese, assistant vice president and dean of student affairs. "And it's a great way for us to start celebrating Women's History Month."
Students participated in free blood pressure screenings, acupuncture treatment and raffles. Information about a range of health topics, including alternative medicine, reproductive health and healthcare coverage for themselves and their families was also available.
