Vaughn College senior Bridgette Valencia will present a paper at the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) St. Lawrence Section Conference in upstate Potsdam.
The paper, titled "Automatically Adjustable Walker for Elderly People," is coauthored by Valencia and Vaughn Professor Dr. Shouling He. It describes a mechatronics walking device that automatically adjusts to uneven ground, allowing the elderly to travel more easily.
The two-day conference, beginning Friday (March 23), is titled "Innovations in Engineering and Technology Education." Topics include trends in engineering education and best practices for student research.
