Entrance Requirements

Admission to Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology is open to high school graduates, those who have earned the State Equivalency Certificate, and, in some cases, those who qualify for the Equivalency Certificate upon completion of 24 collegiate credits. Applicants are accepted on a rolling basis and processed as soon as all the required information has been submitted to the admissions office. Applicants for admission must:

  • file a Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology Application for Admission
  • provide an official copy of their high school transcript
  • provide an official copy of all college transcripts (if applicable)
  • provide a copy of their high school diploma or GED with scores
  • provide immunizations records
  • take the placement exam (if applicable)
  • pass FAA Class II physical examination (flight operations applicants only).

Academic and technical requirements vary by degree program. In general, bachelor of science and associate in applied science courses depend upon academic abilities. Associate in occupational studies courses emphasize technical aptitudes. Applicants for the bachelor of science programs who have been out of high school less than two years must submit the results of the SAT I or ACT exam. Students who have lived in the United States for less than 3 years and for whom English is a second language, or international applicants from countries where English is not an official language may substitute results of the TOEFL exam. Students who have completed 24 or more college credits are exempt from the SAT/ACT requirement.

An applicant lacking a high school diploma for admission to an associate program may be eligible to earn a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) upon completion of 24 collegiate credits while at Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology. Students admitted to this program are accepted on a conditional basis. These applicants are required to successfully complete a written examination covering basic verbal and math comprehension. An interview with an admissions and a financial aid counselor is required for all flight operations applicants and is recommended for all other applicants.
