Description
Vaughn College is seeking a full-time, tenure track, assistant professor to teach undergraduate courses related to history including Global Civilization, American History, American Government and the History of Technology. Additional responsibilities include: assisting the department chair with 1) the assessment and evaluation of liberal arts courses, 2) continual development of liberal arts curriculum, and 3) the design of a holistic learning experience including learning communities, supplemental instruction and alternative teaching modalities. The candidate is also expected to work in collaboration with other academic departments as well as the teaching and learning center.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: PhD in History or a related discipline and two years of teaching experience at the college level. Candidates should have experience in curriculum development, and possess the ability to work closely with colleagues from the engineering and management departments and initiate collaborations with faculty from other disciplines.

The candidate should possess the ability to work closely with colleagues and initiate collaborations with faculty from other disciplines. Experience with integrating technology into the teaching of physics, curriculum development and a willingness to collaborate with the teaching and learning center is required. An interest in building a research component for undergraduate students is desired.

Work on development of new courses in writing and English literature such as Comparative Literature, Creative Writing and Ethnic Specific Literature is required. The candidate will also assist the department chair with 1) the assessment and evaluation of English courses, 2) ongoing improvement/development of writing curriculum for program-specific students, and 3) implementation of a holistic learning experience including learning communities, supplemental instruction and alternative teaching modalities. The candidate is also expected to work in collaboration with all academic departments as well as with academic resource center.
