FAQ - Commencement
Commencement will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 in the hangar. All students must arrive no later than 9 a.m. and report to their designated rooms located on the second level by the main security desk. If something prevents you from attending or you do not plan to attend the ceremony, please let us know by emailing graduation@vaughn.edu.
Graduates will receive four commencement tickets that will be distributed with your cap and gown. A guest without a ticket will have to view the ceremony from the overflow room. Overflow tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis and will be capped when we reach maximum capacity for the space. Students may request overflow tickets by emailing, graduation@vaughn.edu.
Student achievement and academic excellence will be recognized at Vaughn's honors convocation ceremony on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. in the main lobby.
Commencement rehearsal will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in rooms E101/E103 from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Pizza will be served. It is strongly recommended that students attend the commencement rehearsal so they are fully prepared to participate in the commencement exercise.
President Dr. Sharon DeVivo cordially invites students and their families to attend the graduation celebration with buffet dinner on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Studio Square Beer Garden located at 35-33 36th Street Astoria, NY 11106.
Graduating students must pay an $80 graduation fee. This fee covers the cost of your cap and gown as well as your diploma. Students can pay by cash, credit card (MasterCard, American Express or Visa) or check (made out to Vaughn College) at the office of student accounts. Students must pay the graduation fee no later than Thursday, May 19, 2016.

If you were registered for classes during the Spring 2012 semester, your commencement fee will be waived.

We have planned some exciting events to celebrate your hard work and achievement that will take place from Monday, April 18 to Friday, May 20. All seniors are welcome to participate in the senior week events. The senior week brochure and commencement website provides event details, cost and registration information. Please register at www.vaughn.edu/commencement. We have limited space for certain events, so please sign up early. In order to place your cap and gown order, you must complete a short survey at http://www.vaughn.edu/commencement-graduation-survey.cfm. After completing the survey, you will be directed to the Herff Jones link to order your cap and gown. Please make sure you complete the cap and gown order form to ensure the correct size and fit of your cap and gown. A confirmation email will be sent to you upon order completion.
All cap and gown orders must be submitted online with Herff Jones by Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at www.vaughn.edu/commencement. Cap and gown distribution dates and times are listed below.

Students who miss on-campus graduation portraits can contact photographer Gina Motisi to schedule a portrait session at her studio in Stony Brook, NY. It is recommended that men wear a shirt and tie. Finished portraits will be mailed to the address provided by the graduate. Please allow two to three weeks for delivery. Special discounts are available for Vaughn students wishing to purchase graduation rings. Representatives from Herff Jones are scheduled to be on campus during the following times:
