James Stephen Smith comes to Vaughn College from Newsday, where he worked as an editor and writer for more than 13 years, part of a 20-plus-year career in print media. In his position as the College's director of public affairs, he develops and edits its publications, including the course catalog, alumni magazine, student handbook, newsletters, feature articles and website content. As the College's media liaison, he maintains regular contact with news professionals and coordinates with faculty, staff and students for the promotion of college events and achievements.
